> Knowledge Transfer
Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) are a UK-wide programme enabling businesses and organisations to improve their competitiveness, productivity and performance.

A KTP achieves this by the forming of a partnership between your business and an academic institution such as Coleg Morgannwg. The resultant partnership enables you to access the skills, knowledge and expertise the institution has to help your business develop and improve.

The knowledge transfer is embedded into the business from the knowledge base through a project, or projects, undertaken by a recently qualified person (known as the Associate), recruited to specifically work on that project. KTPs do vary in length from 1 to 3 years.             The length of the KTP depends on the needs of the business and the desired outcomes.

KTP enables new capability to be transferred into a business and has benefited and continues to benefit a wide range of businesses across many sectors, including micro sized, small and large businesses as well as public and third sector organisations.

> Egni UK Office - Virtual Practice Company
EUROPEN - PEN INTERNATIONAL is the worldwide practice firms network with over 5500 practice firms in 42 countries. A practice firm is a virtual company and a centre of vocational learning that runs like a "real" business silhouetting a "real" firm's business procedures, products and services. Each practice firm trades with other practice firms.

Practice firms are staffed by students and each is allocated a specific role in departments such as sales, finance, marketing and human resources. They setup their own company and learn about business and its associated techniques.

The benefit to a user is that they can operate in a virtual business environment trading with countries all over the world. This unique simulation environment mirrors standard business methods used in the UK. These include everything from sales and marketing techniques, finance, human resources legislation as well as tax and raising revenue. The environment can also be linked to qualifications and many providers use this environment to deliver qualifications in business and administration.

Coleg Morgannwg is the host to the UK Central Office of Europen called Egni.

The practice firm network is in operation in schools, FE colleges, and commercial training providers across the country.

Organisations can purchase operating licences from the UK Central Office to setup practice firms and allow their students and clients a real world business environment to operate in whilst developing new skills that can be transferred directly from the ‘virtual world’ to the real world of business.
